Case History

Case History is about Community Justice Issues.

  • ELDER ABUSE in America

    Case History #3:

According to GCA 3 in 10 Americans aged 60+ have experienced some form of elder abuse. Figures range as high as 6 plus million elders are abused each year in the USA. Unfortunately the vast majority of Elder abused (cases) are never reported to authorities.

CALL THE COPS IF YOU KNOW AN ELDERLY PERSON IS BEING ABUSED!

To remain silent would mean YOU! condone the abusive behavior of the assailant.

    THIS MUST STOP!

  • The Homeless Crisis is growing in America!

Case History #2:  Homelessness among military veterans in the greater Chicagoland area.

The following statistics are given by various agencies.

There were an estimated 1.5 MILLION sheltered and unsheltered homeless veterans in 2022.

However according to Guardian Corps of America (GCA) statistics homelessness among military veterans is actually greater than what is reported by other agencies.  In 2021 GCA documented approximately 1,100 veterans who go homeless and hungry every evening in the greater Chicago land area, and in total across the USA approximately 1.7 MILLION homeless veterans in all 50 states in the union.

GCA also documents a homeless person when they are couch serfing in a home of a relative or friend.  This means an individual is living with a relative or friend sleeping on their couch.  Many agencies do not count the couch serfer as a homeless person.

    WHY?

Veterans are 50% more likely to become homeless than other Americans due to poverty, lack of support networks, and dismal living conditions in overcrowded or substandard housing. About 1.5 to 1.7 million veterans are considered at-risk of homelessness.

  • Chicago's Homeless Children

    Case History #1:

    IN 2022:

How many kids are homeless in the USA?

Each year, an estimated 4.2 million youth and young adults experience homelessness, of which 700,000 are unaccompanied minors, meaning they are not part of a family or accompanied by a parent or guardian. On any given night, approximately 41,000 unaccompanied youth ages 13-25 experience homelessness.
