For a Better World!
Operation EDDA is a MOVEMENT to help America's poor, less fortunate, disadvantaged and homeless population.
There are many parts to the OPERATION EDDA Movement which include advocating, and supporting homeless American military veterans, homeless citizens, people with disabilities, the mentally challenged, children at risk, and people afflicted with the cancer illness.
The GCA website is an informational vehicle designed to educate the American people about important community justice issues and the GCA mission.
GCA programs offer value with the potential to improve the lives of those who are poor, homeless, less fortunate and disadvantaged.
You can make a difference by helping someone in need.
When you see a person with a disability or is handicapped refrain from casting judgement on the individual.
Instead engage the person by offering assistance or using kind language to uplift their spirits.
Encourage, not discourage the person.
As long as we humans live in this world. It is to our advantage that we strive to compete the best we can.
The poor, homeless, disadvantaged and less fortunate are not always looked upon favorably in todays modern day society. Your kindness and decency can go a long way when offering a helping hand.
Since our inception the GCA Mission served Chicago's needy by offering the OPERATION EDDA Homeless Persons Survival Kit, complete with hygiene products, nutritional bars, and many other important items a homeless person can use to help them get through the day.
In addition GCA distributes non - perishable food, clothing, bottled water, and the valuable DAILY WORD spiritual booklet, offering spiritual nourishment to those in need.
In our Operation EDDA - Homeless Persons Survival Kits (care package) the homeless veteran can expect an important informational guide, and ID cards (telephone directory) used for needed social services.
There are many resources available for homeless veterans that can educate them with valuable information.
There are many reason's so many displaced families are living in homeless shelters. Many have no, or very little income to help support their children.
Living in a homeless shelter for both adults and children have an enormous impact on their lives, causing some to experience serious emotional and psychological problems later in life.
Homelessness can create issues for adults as well. It many cases both men and women suffer from low self esteem, feeling of despair, isolation, excessive worry, hunger, medical and pshchological problems, not to mention the lack of financial resources which is the leading cause of homelessness.
GCA found there are an estimated 553,000 people in the United States experiencing homelessness on any given night, this represents a rate of approximately 16 people experiencing homelessness per every 10,000 people in the general population.
In the Chicago land area alone, approximately 1,000 veterans go homeless and hungry every night. Across America there are a total of 61,000 veterans who go homeless, and hungry every evening.
GCA provides a unique service for homeless veterans, and homeless citizen and their families.
Throughout the year GCA delivers meals directly to homeless veterans, homeless citizens and their families.
GCA strives to help find opportunities for housing , and other valuable services for homeless veterans, and homeless citizens.
GCA representatives are trained to offer homeless veterans, homeless citizens and their families a complete package of services in order to help those in need receive the care they so desperately need.
